SUSTAINABLE SHOTGUN
A response to the 3-day challenge of a low-budget, sustainable family home in New Orleans, this is a modern take on the traditional shotgun house. Its placement on a corner lot allows for a side entrance, programmatically dividing the home into private and public, with the public spaces opening up to a side porch. A bioswale running along the porch collects and mitigates rainwater runoff and the exterior is clad in reclaimed wood. Designed with Christina Buschman and Joseph Colon.
